About IGEN

Establishment and Mission

The iGaming European Network is an association of iGaming firms based in Malta but operating throughout Europe and beyond. Focused on social corporate responsibility, the Network strives to ensure that the iGaming industry gives back to the community and acts as a positive force for both economic development and the ethical calibre of the sector. It also represents the interests of the industry in Malta and drives action towards the local business ecosystem while pushing for dialogue on a broader European level.

Its membership consists of A-class firms such as AspireGlobal, Betsson Group, Betway, Casumo, Gamesys, Genesis, Kindred Group and more. It also partners with advisory firms and growth consultants such as Deloitte and Growthgurus as well as SiGMA itself. As a strongly humanitarian organisation, the network has leveraged its community to support several local initiatives for the wellbeing of Maltese society with these including Puttinu Cares, a children’s cancer support group that has successfully raised hundreds of thousands of euros to help those in need, the Richmond Foundation which represents the forefront of Maltese mental healthcare and The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation which helps local humanitarian initiatives across the board.

iGEN and humanitarianism

The Network has also strongly advocated for environmental concerns and has taken measures towards supporting the Maltese ecosystem. To celebrate World Ocean Day on the 8th of June 2021, iGEN united volunteers form 28 different iGaming companies such as Aspire Global, Betsson Group, ComeOn Group, Genesis Group, Internet Vikings, Kindred Group, Microgaming, Tipico, and William Hill international for a beach clean up. In groups of 6, the volunteers collected over 25 bags of waste, trash and recyclable materials from Majjistral Park, Golden Bay and the surrounding areas. GIG, another iGEN member, also held clean ups at other parts of the islands, along with underwater clean ups.

The Network has also taken steps to ensure that the local sectorial ecosystem is taken care of through capacity building in a way that reduced the dearth of workers suited for iGaming firms and supporting firms and start-ups in setting up local bank accounts that would allow them to establish themselves locally. In terms of its methods, the Network has maintained a holistic approach by referring to all relevant stakeholders and supporting a mutually beneficial outcome wherever it can.

iGEN also prides itself on being proactive in terms of communication, providing partners with press releases, interviews, website, articles, whitepapers and more to both elaborate on its advocacy as well as to educate its viewership.

iGEN and SiGMA

Building upon a formal partnership, SiGMA and the iGaming European Network work hand-in-hand in ensuring that the local business ecosystem benefitseveryone equitably and holds itself to a high-standard of ethical practises. SiGMA also provides the Network with a physical platform to exhibit at the annual conference, establishing the Network’s presence at the heart of the iGaming summits. iGEN has also provided excellent speakers and thought leaders who have been more than willing and qualified to chair and contribute to panels within the area of their competence.

At SIGMA Europe 2021’s Regulation and Compliance Conference, the Chairman iGEN Enrico Bradamante contributed to a panel on the Maltese iGaming ecosystem in 2022 and in the near future titled “Malta 2022 and ahead.” We look forward to a future of cooperation, ensuring that iGaming firms find everything they need in Malta for prosperity moving forward.
