In this exclusive series, Alidad Tash, leading contributor to SiGMA’s Intelligence series and managing director of 2NT8 limited, goes on to re-examine confirmed worldwide COVID-19 cases for the period 28th January 2020 to 26th January 2021
The global crisis is still on the rise with the virus spreading around the world, over 100 million cases have been confirmed and more than two million deaths listed across nearly 200 countries.
The virus has surged across the world and very few places have managed to avoid it.
The pandemic has also brought about restraints which have certainly affected a number of industries and economies. Land-based casinos have been hit the hardest as they are not able to operate at full capacity.
Tash examines nine regions from the world map namely China, India, EU, Russia, South Africa, Non-EU, USA, Brazil and the rest of the world.
With tests widely available in many countries, the data showing the number of cases is more accurate now. Effective vaccines are a key component in overcoming COVID-19. The challenge now is to make vaccines available to all individuals worldwide to help curb the spread.
