A new metric for trust: inside Casinos Blockchain's fairness score and the future of transparent iGaming

In the rapidly evolving world of online gambling, one question continues to define the player experience: Can I trust this game?

Casinos Blockchain recognised a growing gap in the industry. While terms like “provably fair” and “RNG-certified” were often mentioned, they frequently lacked substance. Not only did the company encounter numerous players who did not understand what those terms meant, but there was also no reliable way to compare fairness between games. The result was confusion, scepticism, and a lack of informed choice. To address this, Casinos Blockchain created a crash games database with transparency and fairness ratings to support more informed decisions.

A solution was needed.

How fair is this game?

This question not only arose among Casinos Blockchain’s reviewers but also represents the burning question for many players. To answer it, Casinos Blockchain recognised that more than just a quick mention of the RNG version or a small “RNG certified” note in the game’s documentation was necessary.

Verifying a game’s fairness typically involved:

  • Scouring providers’ websites for valid RNG certificates
  • Reviewing providers’ gaming certificates from gambling authorities that mandate RNG testing
  • Using external cryptographic tools to verify combined hash values

They realised there had to be a better way to describe how fair a particular game truly is. Many games failed to communicate how fairness was ensured—or if it was addressed at all.

Most game providers fit into one of three categories:

  • Those offering no mention of fairness or certification
  • Those making unverified claims about their algorithms
  • Those offering some proof but no way for players to interact with or verify outcomes themselves
  • Occasionally, those providing a complicated way to verify fairness based on the game’s hash data

Games and providers that make fairness verification transparent and simple remain scarce.

The solution: the fairness score

To address this challenge, Casinos Blockchain developed a Fairness Score based on a standardised 1–5 rating scale evaluating each game’s level of transparency and user control over outcome verification. The score reflects both the technical implementation and user-facing access to fairness features:

  • No evidence of fairness; no certification, documentation, or provably fair system
  • Claimed fairness without verification; no valid RNG certificate or user-facing proof
  • Certified algorithm, but players cannot verify individual rounds or interact with the system
  • Provably fair with real-time verification; well-documented algorithm, but no client seed control
  • Full transparency and control; real-time verification plus user-defined seed values

Each reviewed game on Casinos Blockchain is now assigned a Fairness Score based on these standards.

The impact & feedback

Since the Fairness Score’s introduction, it has become one of the most popular sorting filters on the site. Players consistently sort crash and blockchain games by fairness, indicating a clear demand for transparency and trust-based metrics in gaming.

This metric has also helped raise industry standards. Game developers increasingly recognise that players want more than just flashy visuals—they want verifiable fairness. Casinos Blockchain is currently in contact with several game providers, assisting them in updating their documentation and demonstrating the fairness of their games through the implementation of the fairness verification badge.

Looking ahead

The Fairness Score is more than a review tool or vanity metric. It represents a statement about the future of iGaming. In a market where decentralisation and player rights are becoming central values, trust is no longer optional—it must be built into the game, communicated clearly, and verifiable in real time.

Casinos Blockchain takes pride in contributing to a more open, accountable gambling ecosystem—one score at a time.
