The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced a multi-year deal with NIP Group, a prominent leader in the world of esports and gaming. This partnership brings a wave of transformational innovation to the region, as NIP Group has revealed a five-year agreement that will see the company establish its global headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The multi-year partnership between ADIO and NIP Group is centred on growth, innovation, and community building. As part of this deal, NIP Group will place its global headquarters in Abu Dhabi, making the city a central player in the world of esports and gaming. ADIO will support NIP with a backing of up to $40 million.
NIP Group will expand operations across multiple business verticals, such as esports management, creative studio development, game publishing, and large-scale event organisation. These efforts are intended to create a strong gaming infrastructure in Abu Dhabi.
The geographical position of Abu Dhabi and its forward-looking leadership make the city a natural hub for international gaming enterprises. With world-class resources and infrastructure, it is perfectly positioned to support the growth of a vibrant esports industry.
The cornerstone of this partnership is the establishment of a state-of-the-art esports academy. The academy will serve as a launchpad for aspiring gamers, developers, and professional esports talents. This academy will equip individuals with worldwide industry-standard skills while maintaining Abu Dhabi’s cultural values.
The partnership emphasises creating intellectual property. The “Made in Abu Dhabi” label will highlight the city’s heritage and place it at the forefront as a powerhouse of original content creation. This will also attract gaming companies and creators from across the globe, cementing its place as a global innovation leader.
NIP Group will offer the most exclusive internship opportunities to UAE nationals to develop careers in esports and gaming. These programmes include educational workshops and mentorship initiatives, which will help develop the local workforce.
NIP Group will also introduce global exchange programmes to ensure that the development experience is holistic. These initiatives will expose UAE talent to international gaming trends and best practices.
The ADIO-NIP partnership is more than just a business agreement—it’s a steppingstone towards a knowledge-based economy. By focusing on digital and creative industries, Abu Dhabi diversifies its economy and ensures long-term resilience.
Badr Al-Olama, Director-General of ADIO, highlighted the partnership as a significant milestone in fostering a vibrant esports and gaming sector. He stated, “Welcoming NIP Group to Abu Dhabi marks a significant milestone in this endeavour, and we look forward to jointly shaping a vibrant future for the esports and gaming sector in the region and beyond.”
Hicham Chahine and Mario Ho, co-CEOs of NIP Group, expressed their excitement about establishing Abu Dhabi as the group’s global headquarters. Chahine stated, “We’re delighted to partner with ADIO as we bring together our Eastern and Western businesses, establishing a truly global headquarters that represents not only our growth as a company but the growth of gaming and entertainment in the Middle East. Our selection as a key partner is the ultimate testament to NIP Group’s industry legacy and leadership.”
