Alea chooses Continent 8 to strengthen the security of its iGaming platform

Alea has appointed Continent 8 Technologies to perform a deep comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) on its systems to strengthen the platform’s cybersecurity defenses. This strategic initiative will enable Alea proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities as the company expands to enable an ever-growing network of gaming providers and operators.

Through a single API integration, Alea provides business-to-consumer (B2C) operators access to a vast library of over 15,000 games from more than 150 game providers. This growth has highlighted the necessity for upgraded security measures to protect the platform’s connections and maintain uninterrupted operations.

With Continent 8’s VAPT services, Alea aims to evaluate both internal and external security risks, allowing the platform to prioritise and implement key cybersecurity enhancements based on these insights.

Alea’s commitment to industry-leading security standards

Eduard Fumás, Alea’s Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the organisation’s aim on security: “At Alea, security is at the core of everything we do. Our commitment to creating a secure, robust and scalable API solution sets a new standard in the iGaming industry, where data protection and system integrity are critical. Partnering with Continent 8 has been an important step for us in proactively safeguarding our platform and reinforcing the trust our partners place in us. This collaboration ensures that we continue to deliver a reliable, secure API experience to our clients. We’re proud to work with a partner that shares our dedication to cybersecurity excellence.”

Patrick Gardner, Vice President and Chief Security Officer at Continent 8, stated, “Alea’s focus on security, scalability, and reliability aligns perfectly with our values. With the large number of APIs Alea uses, their proactive approach to assessing their business and ensuring security for its partners is crucial. We’re proud to support Alea and urge all businesses in the industry to take cybersecurity threats seriously.”

Through its cybersecurity division, C8 Secure, Continent 8, provides Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) services designed to systematically uncover and address security weaknesses within IT environments. This VAPT approach empowers clients like Alea to implement targeted strategies for mitigating identified risks, effectively reducing their exposure to potential security threats.

This latest association with Alea underscores Continent 8’s commitment to strengthening cybersecurity in the iGaming industry. It comes on the heels of recent engagements, such as the company’s renewed collaboration with Playtech, a leader in iGaming technology, which has now extended across two decades. As part of this alliance, Continent 8 delivers managed services to address Playtech’s security and connectivity requirements, assuring their platforms operate securely and efficiently. With services like VAPT, Continent 8 continues to reinforce its role as a trusted cybersecurity partner, helping clients in the rapidly evolving iGaming industry protect their assets and data.
