Atlantis Paradise Resort set to reopen on July 7

The resort launched the Atlantis ‘Clean & Safe Promise’ to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of resort guests and Atlantis employees

Atlantis Paradise Island, located in the Bahamas (Caribbean Islands), announces its reopening after the pandemic, starting next July 7th with ‘The Royal and Harborside Resort’ and with ‘The Cove’ a week later, on July 14th.

After partnering with the Cleveland Clinic, the resort launched the Atlantis ‘Clean & Safe Promise’ to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of resort guests and Atlantis employees. The program will ensure that cleanliness policies are met, exceeding the operational standards. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bahamas Ministry of Health has reported zero active cases on Paradise Island.

Most of Atlantis’ amenities, including one of the resort’s main attractions, the Atlantis Casino, as well as indoor and outdoor dining facilities, golf courses, tennis courts, fitness centers, the Mandara Spa, the Dolphin Cay and The Dig will open, among many others, with health measures being a top priority.

The company has mentioned that Atlantis’ Clean & Safe Promise policies and procedures meet and exceed guidelines set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the Bahamas Ministry of Health, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the World Health Organization.

The Atlantis Cleaning and Safety Counci have worked with Atlantis’ Medical Director, Dr. Theodore Turnquest, and the Cleveland Clinic to carry out these procedures, developing preventive and health measures to ensure the health and hygiene of their facilities without exception.

Atlantis has increased the frequency of deep, daily cleaning and sanitizing, with a focus on high-contact surface and the most frequented areas of the resort, using EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants for use and effectiveness against VOC-19, bacteria, and other pathogens.

According to Atlantis’ program, guests are advised to expedite the check-in process up to 24 hours prior to arrival, and to wear masks at the resort, in the casino, and other establishments, as well as maintaining the safe distance advised. The entire resort will be equipped with hand disinfection material, as well as with a multitude of information posters on sanitary measures.

The reopening of Atlantis will coincide with the fifth phase of the COVID-19 Bahamas de-escalation plan and the resumption of international commercial travel, including flights by major US airlines to the Bahamas, on 1 July. Ministry of Tourism and Aviation guidelines in the Bahamas will require travellers to submit the negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival.
