Aurora delivered a dominant performance against Team Falcons in the fourth week of MPL Philippines Season 15, sweeping their opponents 2-0 at Green Sun Hotel, Makati. Employing the legendary UBE strategy, a tactic popularised by Blacklist International, Aurora demonstrated their perfection in team coordination and strategic execution.
While some teams struggled during Week 4 of the tournament, Aurora thrived, proving their strength by efficiently executing their game plan. Their precise tactics and strategic depth set them apart from the competition.
Team Aurora used UBE strategy to dominate their opponents in the ongoing tournament. UBE (Ultimate Bonding Experience) is a team-oriented strategy that emphasises group fights, healing, and sustainability, a method that made Blacklist International a powerhouse from Seasons 7 through 12.
Aurora’s head coach, Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani, highlighted in the post-match interview that the strategy was never obsolete, but rather, teams had developed additional options.
Jiandani stated, “Yes, I don’t think it has completely returned because it really disappeared for us. There are just more options now, but for us, the healing META never really went away.”
Though recently nerfed, Aurora still relied on Renejay “Renejay” Bacarse with the hero, and he was fantastic. Dubbed “The Hitman,” Renejay repaid his coach’s faith by notching 16 assists in an all-out 20-minute, 50-second war, creating all-important plays and carrying his team to a win.
Aurora’s strategy in Game 2 caught Team Falcons off-guard, particularly with their Franco pick, which countered the opponent’s Mathilda. Dominic “Domengkite” Delmundo executed a brilliant backdoor play, sneaking into the enemy base and ending the match at the 10:05 mark with Moskov.
Aurora, also known as “The Northern Lights,” will face Twisted Minds on 28th March to open the second round of the tournament. Following the end of their five-game winning streak, Team Falcons will look to bounce back against Team Liquid.
Whereas TNC Pro Team is on a three-match losing streak after their latest loss to Team Liquid Philippines, dropping to fifth place. AP Bren, Smart Omega, and Twisted Minds are all struggling with a 1-6 win-loss record. The Hive remains slightly ahead of Barangay and Twisted Minds based on game difference.
The upcoming matches on 28th March feature Aurora facing off against Twisted Minds, followed by the TNC Pro Team competing against ONIC Philippines.
