Brazilian Series of Poker 2024, biggest poker tournament in Latin America, returns to Rio

The Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) returns to Rio de Janeiro for another stage of its 2024 season. From 9 – 16 September. The event will be held at the Windsor Marapendi Hotel in Barra da Tijuca, a venue known for hosting some of Brazil’s most prestigious poker tournaments. This stage promises to bring together players of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals, competing for substantial prizes.

As the largest poker circuit in Latin America, the BSOP’s Rio de Janeiro stage solidifies its significance on the global poker scene. Each edition attracts an increasing number of international players, raising the tournament’s competitiveness and prestige. For those already in Rio or able to travel, this is a unique opportunity to experience top-tier poker in one of Brazil’s most iconic settings.

The most anticipated event is the Main Event, which typically draws top poker players from Brazil and abroad. Though the buy-in is higher, the prize pool is also significantly larger, making it especially appealing to more experienced competitors. Prize amounts vary by tournament, but the Main Event can offer payouts exceeding R$1 million, depending on the number of participants.

Alongside the Main Event, other tournaments at this stage also offer substantial rewards. With buy-ins ranging from R$500 to R$10,000, players can win prizes proportional to the entry fee and the size of the field, meaning even smaller tournaments present opportunities to win considerable amounts.

One of the key advantages of this BSOP stage is its exceptional organization. The event ensures a high-quality experience for participants, with professional-grade tables, skilled dealers, and a support staff that allows players to focus solely on their game. Additionally, select tables will be livestreamed, enabling fans to watch the action and root for their favourite players from home.

Players can also enter the BSOP through online satellite tournaments, which are held in advance. These online qualifiers offer winners a chance to secure a spot in the main event for a fraction of the cost, drawing participants from across Brazil who want to compete in this major event without a significant financial commitment.
