In a significant corporate change, Kresimir Spajic, former Senior Vice President at Hard Rock International, (pictured above), has taken over as CEO of Betfred USA. Spajic brings substantial experience in the North American gambling sector to his new role.
Spajic’s career in the gambling industry includes a number of key positions at Hard Rock, Great Canadian Entertainment, and advisory roles with Apollo Global Management, Borgata Hotel Casino and Rush Street Interactive from 2013 to 2015. He also holds a graduate degree from renowned institutions that include SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy, the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland and De Montfort University in the UK.
Spajic expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to be the CEO of Betfred USA. I look forward to working with our talented teams and partners to build a strong US business, focusing on customer value and responsible gaming.”
Betfred founder Fred Done pointed out that Spajic’s new role is significant for the company’s US growth. He added, “Kresimir is the ideal person to expand the Betfred brand in America.”

Betfred operates online in seven US states and runs retail sportsbooks in Louisiana, Nevada, and Washington. Although the company reported impressive revenue figures of £723.2 million in the fiscal year leading up to September 2022, specific US market revenues were not disclosed.
This appointment demonstrates Betfred’s commitment to growing in the US market, guided by Spajic’s extensive leadership in industry.
