COVID-19 scare shuts down two land-based casinos

Singapore Pools’ Livewires  temporarily close two venues after a COVID patient visits Livewire at China Square

Two major sports betting venues in Singapore, one in China Square in Chinatown and the second at the Singapore Pools Building in the Rocher area, have been ordered to shut down after a positive COVID19 patient visited both sites. Both of these sports betting venues belong to Livewires, that are run by Singapore Pools themselves.

The sports betting venues will be closed until further notice, with deep cleaning and proper disinfection set to take place to ensure the safety of future visitors.

According to the Ministry of Health, it is believed that the patient had visited Livewire at China Square from June 17 to the 19th.

Meanwhile, all of Livewire’s employees who were present during that specific period have been asked to remain at home until further notice as the Ministry of Health works closely to facilitate the next actions, including swab tests.

The patient had visited Livewire at China Square after midnight, around 1:15am to 2:30am on June 19, which coincides with the times of the European Championship football games.

All visitors and patients have been contacted directly by the MOH to isolate and quarantine until stated otherwise.
