Crown Resort gets former SkyCity deputy chair Bruce Carter on board to help rebuild the casino’s board

Crown Resorts has just appointed former SkyCity deputy chair Bruce Carter as Director to help rebuild the casino’s board. Carter ended his 11-year tenure three weeks ago. He is now joined in Crown’s new Board of Directors

Bruce Carter AustraliaThis February land-based casino, Crown was found to be ‘not suitable’ to hold a gaming license for the new $2.2 billion casino at Barangaroo.

The conclusions that emerged were that the casino was not in a position to operate its new development in Sydney, as the reports indicated evidence that the company’s facilities and accounts were used for money laundering, and pursues commercial relationships with individuals with links to triads and other organized crime groups.

Crown’s Executive Chairman. Helen Coonan said that Bruce will bring to the Crown Board the ideal blend of commercial, governance and gaming sector expertise and is respected across Australia for his contribution to corporate and government roles.

When the Bergin report came into light, five former Crown directors stepped down. Bruce Carter will now have to face probity checks before he can hold his position as Crown Director.

Bruce carter has 30 year experience in corporate restructuring and insolvency. He was previously a Chairman for the WorkCover Corporation and the South Australian Economic Development Board.

The Advertiser, a popular newspaper in South Australia, has named him the State Government’s “Mr Fix-It” and he was also listed as one of the 50 most influential South Australians in The Australian.
