EEG signs letter of intent to acquire EGL

Esports Entertainment Group M&A drive has continued with Esports Gaming League deal

Esports Entertainment Group Inc. (EEG), is an online licensed gambling company specialising in e-sports betting and 18+ games. Lately EEG has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire Electronic Gamers’ League (EGL). EGL is a fast-growing British e-sports company founded in 2010 to provide services for the fast-growing gaming communities in Europe, Middle East and the Americas.

As B2B-centric provider of live broadcast and online events and tournaments. Gamers in EGL can compete on a proprietary technology platform with more than 350,000 registered gamers and enjoy a wide range of content related to e-sports and video games. Services include all-inclusive e-sports events, live broadcast production, game publishing and online brand tournaments.

Esports Entertainment Group EEGGrant Johnson, CEO of EEG, said: ‘We are committed to launching and operating a tournament platform before the end of the year and  fulfilling this commitment through this transaction. EGL generated approximately $1.3 million in revenue last year and is expected to achieve triple-digit the above growth. The EGL platform has a large user base, excellent team and strong advertising partners, which are the main driving forces for this acquisition. I believe we can accelerate growth internationally.’

The growing user base and EGL audience group provide a good environment for brand owners and advertisers to promote their products and services. EGL targets users aged 18 to 35 and partnership with game publisher like Microsoft, Activision or Sports team like Red Bull, Arsenal FC.

Glen Elliott, CEO of EGL, said: ‘We are very happy to join the EEG family. This will give us the opportunity to promote our technology and resources to further develop our customer base.
