Empowering communities through healthcare and hope

A heartfelt and inspiring moment unfolded in Peru on 12 April as SiGMA Foundation, in collaboration with EGT Digital, proudly inaugurated the expanded healthcare facility that promises to transform lives. The project, led by the renowned Gozitan priest and doctor, Fr. Raymond Portelli, whose vision for the hospital expansion was driven by faith and compassion, embodies the profound meaning of “Algo bello para Dios,” which translates to “Something beautiful for God.” This marks a key moment in the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to making a lasting, positive impact on communities across the globe.

Fr. Portelli, who was also featured in the latest issue of SiGMA Magazine, has dedicated his life to healthcare and community service. As a spiritual leader and medical professional, he has created a truly exceptional model of giving. On opening day, Fr. Portelli was joined by SiGMA Foundation’s Operations Manager, Keith Marshall, who offered his unwavering support for this groundbreaking project. Together, they celebrated a milestone that will provide access to critical healthcare services for thousands of families in Peru, turning a noble vision into a tangible reality.

SiGMA Group Founder Eman Pulis also shared his reflections during a keynote at the recent BiS SiGMA Americas 2025 on the growing role that the gaming industry is playing in corporate social responsibility. Speaking passionately about the potential of SiGMA’s platform, he acknowledged the industry’s power to create positive change despite the stigma it sometimes faces: “We’re not a gambling company, but an events company that is trying to promote regulated and responsible gaming,” Pulis explained. “SiGMA Foundation offers an opportunity to raise the bar, bringing philanthropy closer to the gaming community, and channelling wealth toward real impact.”

SiGMA Foundation continues to lead transformative initiatives globally, with recent projects including the opening of an ophthalmology operating theatre in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, made possible by the Foundation’s ongoing partnership with the Santo Hermano Pedro parish. On 7 April, the inauguration of a new sports centre in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in collaboration with Centurion FC, provides a range of training, education, and empowerment opportunities for local youth. The Foundation is also actively engaged in supporting underserved communities worldwide, with no sign of slowing down in its mission to improve lives through meaningful philanthropy.

Looking ahead, the SiGMA Foundation remains focused on its mission to uplift and empower communities worldwide. As these impactful initiatives continue to unfold, there is no shortage of opportunities for readers to get involved, whether as a sponsor, participant, or advocate. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of many. Join SiGMA Foundation as it continues to shine a light on the intersection of gaming, philanthropy, and community empowerment. Your involvement can help shape the next chapter and create a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
