Flashpoint 3, the Next European CS:GO RMR event

Coming as the first CS:GO esports tournament with Regional Major Ranking (RMR) points in 2021, Flashpoint 3 features a brand new format and an impressive list of invited teams

B Site announced that the third iteration of its tournament will be completely different than previous Flashpoint events. More than this, competing teams get the chance to earn precious Regional Major Points, which are necessary to qualify for the PGL Stockholm CS:GO Major later this year.

Flashpoint 3

Flashpoint season 3 This tournament includes 16 teams, with 11 based on the current RMR standings. The rest are filled with teams that prove worthy during the qualifying event. From April 13 to April 25, a total of 512 CS:GO esports teams will fight to fill eight slots.

Out of these eight slots, only five teams can get through the Closed Qualifier and compete in the main event.

Flashpoint 3 contestants can compete against teams like Vitality, who currently sits at the top of the CS:GO RMR rankings. Heroic, BIG, Astralis, Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix, OG, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, and FaZe Clan received invites to Flashpoint 3. North Esports also officially received an invite, despite the organization having left the CS:GO esports scene.

Finally, between May 10 and May 30, the double-elimination bracket takes place. In the end, only one will prevail and increase their chances PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

CS:GO Esports

B Site kept on building on Flashpoint’s previous successes and acquired a certain standing. Now, it is officially part of the CS:GO European esports event list. Furthermore, this starts the 2021 season, which is a big accomplishment for them. Many Counter-Strike fans will have their eyes set on Flashpoint 3 to see who performs best.

‘We’re thrilled to be working with Valve as an RMR event as we approach the Stockholm Major,’ Christopher ‘MonteCristo,’ said. ‘And we’re excited to increase the quality of competition in Flashpoint while continuing our high standards for production and content.’

Even though Flashpoint is owned by eight different esports teams, many problems plagued its organization before. First, half of its foundling organizations do not compete in CS anymore. Now, MAD Lions and Dignitas, who should be part of the project, did not receive invitations either.

To top it all off, Duncan ‘Thorin’ Shields, who was the face of the tournament, stepped down a month ago. Considering the tournament’s problems, the CS:GO esports community is excited to see how Flashpoint 3 fares.
