From GiG to Gentoo, a bold media rebrand

GiG Media has announced its rebranding to Gentoo Media, following its recent spinoff from the parent company, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), marking a new chapter for the affiliate market leader. The rebranding includes a fresh visual identity, with a new logo and company name, while maintaining the core values and personnel that have driven the company’s success.

Gentoo Media, formerly known as GiG Media, will continue to operate under the new brand name Gentoo. This change comes as a significant step in the company’s evolution into an independent entity, slated for the latter half of 2024. The rebranding reflects the company’s impressive performance, with 13 consecutive quarters of record-breaking revenue and a robust EBITDA margin of 48 percent in the previous quarter.

The new brand name, Gentoo Media, is a nod to the company’s origins, paying homage to the Rebel Penguin heritage of GiG Media. The Gentoo penguin, a species thriving in the Antarctic, symbolizes unity and resilience, mirroring the company’s ambition to continue leading the market and shaping the future of affiliate partnerships.

Gentoo Media will now be represented by a suite of new assets under the Gentoo brand.

Jonas Warrer, CEO of Gentoo, expressed his enthusiasm for the rebrand, highlighting the importance of this milestone in delineating GiG Media from Gaming Innovation Group. Speaking with SiGMA News, Warrer said that to ensure the success of the rebranding, it is crucial for employees to fully embrace the new brand.

He assured that the new brand Gentoo is crafted with the company’s partners and employees in mind, reflecting a genuine representation of the company’s ethos and vision.

Mikael Harstad, Chairman of the Board, said that the rebrand as a crucial moment in the company’s separation into two distinct entities.
