The BiS SiGMA Americas 2025 summit officially launched this morning, April 8th, with an inspiring opening ceremony at Jardins Stage at Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil. With more than 18,000 participants attending this conference, the founders of both the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS) and SiGMA Group gave speeches to commence this great summit. From Malta to Brazil, highlighting the importance of cooperation, regulation, and growth in both regions, forging new bonds between two countries at opposite ends of the globe.
Alessandro Valente, Co-Founder and President of the Brazilian iGaming Summit, opened the event by emphasising the remarkable growth of the Brazilian iGaming sector. “What we have built today is the result of years of hard work and vision,” Valente remarked, pointing out that Brazil is well-positioned to lead the region. Carlos Cardama, Co-Founder and CEO of the Brazilian iGaming Summit, also celebrated the progress made in Brazil, noting that the event’s growth mirrored the country’s developing iGaming market.
Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group, echoed these sentiments, highlighting how the global expansion of iGaming has united different regions. “This is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to strengthen the connections between Brazil and Malta,” Pulis said. He went on to emphasise how important regulation is in this fast-developing industry. “Regulation is the only way forward. We see Brazil’s steps toward regulation as a pivotal moment for the region,” he added.
Malta’s Ambassador to Brazil, H.E. John Aquilina, spoke afterwards about the potential of strengthening the bond between the two nations. “Malta, with its 25 years of regulatory experience, is ready to support Brazil as it navigates its regulatory framework,” Aquilina stated. He recognised SiGMA’s crucial role in fostering international collaboration, praising Eman Pulis for his leadership in global discussions and projects in responsible gaming. “This event is a testament to the vision of Eman Pulis, who saw beyond Malta’s borders and brought this initiative to Brazil and Latin America,” he said.
SOFTSWISS‘ Formula 1 icon Rubens Barrichello, who is currently the company’s Non-Executive Director for Latin America, was also in attendance. He passionately spoke about the parallels between iGaming and motorsport. He stated, “Both worlds are driven by competition and precision.”
