GamCare to further expand Women’s Support Program

GamCare pursues the implementation of its Women’s Support Programme

During the COVID-19 pandemic, research conducted by the NHS revealed that when women struggle with gambling troubles, they are more likely to experience social and mental health problems.

casinoIn this regard, GamCare, a major provider of information and assistance to people affected by the hazards of gambling,  implemented its Women’s Support Program. This program aims to provide support to women suffering from gambling-related disorders. GamCare is developing this program by raising awareness in various communities to spread the word of women in need and by developing numerous treatment and support services.

The preservation of this program includes the development of a dedicated women’s chatroom. The next one will be held on Saturday, June 12th, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

GamCare recently released its new mandate for the coming years, highlighting its new corporate strategy. It aims to ensure that gambling treatment and support services continue to be available across all public health facilities in the UK.

According to GamCare, this strategy includes the use of their learning to increase the skills and expertise of thousands of providers. This will then allow them to better identify women in need. As part of its new mandate, GamCare also plans to share all their work to assist in future actions to reduce the harms of gambling for women.
