Huawei eyes the gaming industry with rumored launch of gaming console

Huawei makes moves to penetrate the gaming industry following rumours of a launch of their own gaming console

According to Chinese website Weibo, tech giant Huawei is rumored to break into the gaming industry with the launch of their very own gaming console, yet this would be subject to a host of challenges.

In 2020, the global gaming industry was said to be valued at $160 billion and is on a trajectory to go above $200 billion this year with a combined valuing across consoles and gaming computers.

For an industry that promising, it seems Huawei is seeking its portion of the market share as the tech company may launch a gaming console, PC’s and Notepads that carry full gaming capacity.

According to Huawei Central, the gaming console seeks to compete with Sony’s PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox, while the notepad will equally be created for gaming; a far cry from its previous editions which were used for mundane tasks.

Although no revelations were made concerning the specifications of each device, sources went on to reveal that Huawei plans to launch its gaming computers first, and the consoles will follow over time.

Though a sensible business move for Huawei, challenges such as a viable ecosystem for gaming and the sour business relationship between Huawei and the US (preventing US companies from transacting with Huawei), makes it almost impossible for the company to get the gaming chips required.
