Gaming technology supplier IGT PlaySports has renewed its agreement with Boyd Gaming, securing an extension that will see its sports betting technology continue to power Boyd’s sportsbook operations in Nevada until at least 2028. The extended deal covers both online and retail sportsbook offerings, including the operation of IGT PlaySports Kiosks across 10 of Boyd’s land-based Nevada properties.

Continued partnership since 2018

The relationship between IGT PlaySports and Boyd Gaming began in 2018. Since then, IGT has become the core technology provider for Boyd’s sports betting operations not just in Nevada but in eight other US states as well. The latest deal confirms that Boyd Gaming will maintain its use of IGT PlaySports technology in Nevada’s competitive betting market for the next three years.

With this extension, IGT will keep powering Boyd’s mobile and retail sports betting platforms and provide self-service kiosks at 10 Nevada venues.

Boyd Gaming confirms long-term commitment

“Boyd Gaming is pleased to announce our decision to continue powering our retail and mobile sportsbooks in Nevada with IGT PlaySports technology,” said Bob Scucci, Vice President of Race & Sports Operations for Boyd Gaming.

“As the core technology of our sports betting offering in Nevada, IGT PlaySports’ platform enables us to evolve Boyd Sports in ways that deliver incremental value to our players and seamlessly scale our offering to address new business opportunities.”

Boyd Gaming’s latest move comes shortly after its adoption of Agilysys InfoGenesis POS technology across 28 of its properties. The company also reported a 3.2 percent year-on-year increase in Q1 2025 revenue, reaching a total of $991.6 million.

IGT strengthens position in Nevada

“IGT PlaySports looks forward to continuing our close partnership with Boyd Gaming in Nevada for three additional years and helping them engage players across channels in the most mature, competitive sports betting market in the U.S.,” said Joe Bertolone, IGT SVP of Sports Betting.

“IGT PlaySports continues to invest in and grow our footprint in Nevada. The performance, reliability and scalability of our technology stack and self-service betting technologies ensure our customers benefit from the most comprehensive B2B solution in North America.”

This deal follows IGT PlayDigital’s February extension with Golden Nugget in Nevada and a strong May, during which IGT secured both the Italian Lottery licence and GCGRA certification in the UAE.
