Interim licenses to be granted to Michigan Online Game Suppliers

47 companies have put supplier applications forward according to the MGCB website as of October 2020

As Michigan inches toward the launch of online casinos later this year, it is evident that there will be a significant slow down of licenses granted by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Michigan State CapitolOperators’ licenses are currently being put together, however, other related online gambling entities are moving forward at a significant pace.

Ainsworth Game Technology Limited is one of the first online casino slot suppliers to be granted such a license. The company from Australia was provisionally awarded a license by the board as a sportsbetting and online casino supplier.

Ainsworth is one of six companies within the state of Great Lakes to be provided with a provisional operating license. A late 2020 launch of online gambling is highly expected. Other entities include Konami Gaming Inc., another online game supplier, and Sportradar Solutions LLC, a big name in sports data and sportsbetting.

In total, 47 companies have put supplier applications forward according to the MGCB website as of October 2020.

During an interview hosted by Fantini Research last week, CEO of Ainsworth Mr Lawerence Levy stated that the company has Michigan in its sights.Lawrence Levey

Levy mentioned that recent and existing partnerships in NJ will be the same as Michigan.

This ultimately means that the RSI brand, BetRivers, BetMGM, and Golden Nugget very likely will have Ainsworth titles.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to not just be part of that market but to grow in it and take good revenues from it,” Levy said.

Even though Michigan was the only state that Levey referred too, he also added that several other states will follow suit. Levey also carried on by mentioning that further partnerships will follow in November 2020.

Application forms for online gaming supplier licenses became readily available in May, however, Richard Kalm, the Director for MGCB, expressed a need for companies to move quickly.
