Jeju Dream Tower, Lotte Tour’s Korean integrated resort, has reported a rise in casino revenue for May 2025. For the month, the casino saw total gaming sales rising 52.5 percent year-on-year to KRW41.36 billion ($30.1 million). The growth was mainly attributed to a surge in table game revenue, according to a regulatory filing from Lotte Tour Development to the Korea Stock Exchange.
Table game revenue soared to KRW39.39 billion last month, marking a 60.5 percent increase compared to May 2024 and a 26.6 percent jump from April this year. In contrast, the machine-game segment’s revenue dropped 23.5 percent year-on-year to KRW1.96 billion in May. This, however, marked a 12 percent uptick compared to April figures. Hotel sales at the integrated resort reached KRW7.92 billion, rising 2.3 percent year-on-year and 11.3 percent on a monthly basis.
One of the key indicators of casino activity, the table drop — representing the total amount paid for gaming chips — surged 77.8 percent year-on-year to KRW194.19 billion. On a sequential basis, the table drop was up 2.8 percent compared to April. For the first five months of this year, cumulative casino sales at Jeju Dream Tower reached nearly KRW158.78 billion, reflecting a 35.1 percent increase from the same period in 2024. In contrast, cumulative hotel sales during the same five-month stretch totaled approximately KRW29.13 billion, down 8.9 percent year-on-year. The property’s total casino drop for the year to date stood at KRW802.71 billion, a 37 percent increase from the same period last year.
Looking at the first-quarter performance, Jeju Dream Tower’s casino revenue for the first three months of 2025 totaled KRW 84.54 billion. This marked a 20.8 percent increase from the first quarter of 2024. On the other hand, hotel revenue for the first quarter of 2025 amounted to KRW 14.09 billion, which represents a 15.9 percent decrease from the same period in 2024.
In 2024, South Korea’s two casinos recorded a rise in revenue. Paradise Co, a leading South Korean operator of foreigner-only casinos, achieved a 10.2 percent increase in annual casino revenue for 2024. Meanwhile, the Jeju Dream Tower also reported improved performance.
The venue leveraged its unique position as a tourist hub to attract foreign visitors, contributing to the overall growth of South Korea’s gaming industry. Jeju Dream Tower is the tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high. It features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino. The tower boasts about 150 tables and 300 slot machines.
