Sportradar Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of Sportradar Group has been granted a full Sports Gaming Supplier Certificate. It is now able to offer sports betting services in the US state of Kansas. This follows the temporary licence granted to Sportradar in September of 2022.
The certification follows hot on the heels of an announcement earlier this week that the company was selected as the exclusive partner of CONMEBOL, the South American football confederation, for its first-ever global audio-visual and betting data rights.
As a result, Sportradar will be in a position to offer betting companies based in the sunflower state a number of services including advertising and integrity services and sports data.
Sports betting in Kansas
Sports betting in Kansas is relatively new, having become legal on July 1, 2022. Currently six online sportsbooks operate in the state, namely PointsBet, DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, BetMGM and Barstool. Earlier in April, PointsBet, one of the smaller players in the US sports betting scene, announced its exit from the US market.
In March 2023, the US sports betting market handled over $11 billion with over $1,1 billion in revenue, generating just short of $208 million for the tax coffers. Compare the two tables below, the first presenting revenues for Kansas in its initial months of legalized sports betting and the other presenting revenues for New Jersey, Sports betting was legalised in New Jersey in January of 2012.
