Lovin Malta shines a spotlight on the inspiring journey of the SiGMA Foundation in its new documentary. From its roots as the philanthropic arm of SiGMA to its present day impact on communities around the world, the documentary offers a comprehensive look at the Foundation’s evolution, the people driving its mission and the life changing initiatives it leads.

Origin and mission

Founded in 2019, the SiGMA Foundation is driven by a clear mission to empower communities through action oriented philanthropy. The Foundation leads fundraising efforts, educational programs and skills training initiatives that aim to transform lives and build a lasting legacy of positive change. Its vision focuses on meaningful participation, long term empowerment and sustainable development, principles that are powerfully reflected throughout the documentary. “We build teams, we build fundraising platforms, we build projects, and we build human life,” says Chief Philanthropy Officer, Keith Marshall, one of the Foundation’s key driving forces. He emphasises the importance of collective value and collaboration, stating that real, lasting impact happens when communities work together.

The SiGMA Foundation story

Lovin Malta’s on-the-ground documentary provides an authentic, human centred look at the Foundation’s work and its global ripple effect. From the very first project to the wide reaching efforts still underway, the documentary shines a spotlight on meaningful stories from Colombia, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Peru, Guatemala, Brazil, Uganda and Gozo, revealing the depth and diversity of SiGMA’s charitable mission. As Operations Manager Jessie Busuttil explains, “The mission we have as a foundation is to provide sustainability, so we’re not just giving immediate, short-term relief.”

That mission comes to life through projects like the 3-in-1 school in Bonga, Ethiopia, which supports children’s education and empowers future generations. The documentary also features the Women’s Empowerment Centre in Bonga, an essential initiative providing training, education and job opportunities to women in the community. These are just two powerful examples of the Foundation’s lasting efforts to uplift lives through practical, community based action. Check out the SiGMA Magazine for further insights and a closer view of these initiatives and more, as well as a deep dive into the Foundation’s work and what lies ahead.

Beyond its on-the-ground initiatives, the documentary also highlights the Foundation’s Adventure Expeditions, embracing adventure as a means to drive change. The Foundation has embarked on transformative expeditions, namely the Camino Inglés route of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, a challenging ascent of Mount Toubkal in North Africa and a four-day trek along the Inca Trail. These journeys were not only physical challenges but also fundraising efforts supporting educational projects and helping to support life changing procedures, such as cleft lip and palate surgeries for children in Cartagena, Colombia. These expeditions exemplify the Foundation’s commitment to active philanthropy, blending physical endeavours with meaningful causes.

At the heart of the documentary are the people whose lives and efforts define the Foundation’s mission. Viewers will meet beneficiaries and team members, offering insight into what fuels this movement and the impact it has on the communities. These voices paint a powerful picture of collaboration, resilience and purpose.

Amplifying impact

This documentary marks a significant milestone in sharing the story behind the SiGMA Foundation’s ongoing mission. As Jessie explains, the goal is not to provide a quick fix, it’s to deliver “the tools, the education, the infrastructure for community development. It’s the healthcare that can provide these communities with tools that offer long-term relief.” It’s more than just a showcase of global impact but a chance to highlight the values that define the Foundation. By bringing these real stories to light, the documentary reinforces SiGMA’s commitment to giving back, while positioning the Foundation as a catalyst for meaningful, hands-on philanthropy. It also serves as a platform to engage new partners, inspire future initiatives and strengthen SiGMA’s legacy as a business that leads with purpose.

The documentary further reinforces the Foundation’s belief that real change does not happen overnight, it comes from long-term relationships, grassroots collaboration and a consistent commitment to bettering lives. As the SiGMA Foundation continues its global outreach, Lovin Malta is bringing this important story to screens with honesty and hope.
