Mexicali City Casinos on the road to recovery

Mexicali City Casinos have started reopening although this decision was not approved by all council members due to fear of more outbreaks

After the reopening of flea markets and restaurants, the secretary of the XXIII Mexicali City Council, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, announced that following the same safety protocols that have been in application for the opening of the mentioned establishments, gyms and casinos of Mexicali City will start to gradually reopen their doors.

Though this decision was not approved by all council members due to fear of more outbreaks, these measures will not only help the customers who previously enjoyed these services but also the staff that had been on a tense situation since the closing.

Jáuregui followed mentioning that the establishments will reopen 24h, with all of their services available to their customers except the selling of alcohol.

In the official announcement, the mentioned chains that will reopen after the 24th  were Casino Winpot, Casino Caliente, Casino Golden Lion, Casino Arenia and three Casino Jack Pot’s (Mundo Divertido) , following strict sanitary measures, and limited to only customers who want to play, after being tested and treated with antibacterial gel.

In the announcement, Jáuregui mentioned ‘Those in charge will be asked to constantly sanitise surfaces, tables, machines, accessories, gaming elements, cash registers, and customer service areas, and to ensure that these spaces remain smoke-free during the time the health contingency lasts.”

The authorities of Mexicali City have reassured that the city council will be open to casino operators that want to inform themselves on the required sanitary measures and security requirements.
