MGM China has launched Macau’s first “Distinctive Smart Bus Shelter”. With its cutting-edge design and a host of smart features, this bus shelter is MGM’s attempt towards contributing to a Macau into a smarter, greener, and more accessible urban space.
Located outside company’s flagship MGM Cotai, the shelter will have smart features like digital screens displaying real-time bus arrivals, weather updates and civil protection messages.
Designed in partnership with JCDecaux (Macau) Limited, the shelter integrates technology seamlessly into its structure, offering a range of advanced features to enhance the commuter experience. It will offer USB charging ports and enhanced accessibility features including braille plate for visually impaired passengers. A spacious waiting area designed for those with reduced mobility will also be part of the shelter.
MGM’s move to create a smart bus shelter aligns with Macau’s long-term vision of becoming a smart and green city. It showcases MGM’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for both residents and visitors while contributing to a more sustainable future. This initiative represents a “perfect blend” of functionality, sustainability, and modern design that not only meets current needs but anticipates future challenges in urban mobility.
The shelter went into operation on Monday. It incorporates eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems that minimise its environmental impact. MGM said the unique bus shelter is a blend of MGM’s elements and sustainability ethos.
Distinctive Smart Bus Shelter’s design was generated using artificial intelligence (AI), which drew upon a series of crafted prompts from the MGM Design Team. Once the initial concept was generated, the shelter underwent further testing and validation were conducted in collaboration with JCDecaux (Macau) Limited to ensure the structural integrity, safety and overall functionality.
