Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City has announced over $50 million in property-wide upgrades planned for 2025. These improvements are part of a seven-year, $270 million transformation project that began when the resort opened in 2018. This year’s plans include the renovation of 559 Blu Rooms and Suites, the expansion of the casino’s Asian-themed gaming area, and five new dining options. The investment also covers the launch of new entertainment and retail spaces.
The resort’s entire 1,860 guest rooms and suites will be fully renovated by the end of 2025. In recent years, Ocean introduced 12 floors of Blu Rooms that had been unfinished by the previous owner, and added over 700 more rooms in 2023 and 2024, including Duplex and Bay suites. The 2025 work, costing $25 million, will complete the final 559 rooms. These rooms feature beach-inspired designs, with marble bathrooms, oversized showers, and soft-touch fabrics. Some suites include dining areas, wet bars, and lounge spaces.
Ocean will also double its Asian-themed gaming floor from 4,000 to 8,000 square feet. The $4 million expansion, designed by R2Architects, will feature 32 gaming tables, including Mini Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker.
New dining options include two restaurants in partnership with well-known restaurateur Stephen Starr, located on the resort’s lobby level and set to open this summer. Additional outlets include LaScala’s Fire, an Italian-American restaurant; High Steaks, a cheesesteak shop in the food court; and Blend, which will serve smoothies and acai bowls.
Entertainment additions include Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar, a two-storey indoor venue that will feature a mini golf course and interactive holograms, such as a 12-foot great white shark towering over the bar. It will be located next to LaScala’s Fire and is scheduled to open later this summer.
Retail expansion will include Sweetheart Coast, a clothing shop by Jersey Shore star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola.
“Ocean continues to invest in property enhancements that enable us to provide an unmatched guest experience not only in Atlantic City, but nationwide,” said Bill Callahan, General Manager of Ocean Casino Resort.
“We are introducing five highly anticipated dining concepts that our customers have been asking for. This year also marks an exciting milestone as we complete the entire hotel with fully renovated guest rooms and suites.”
The resort is also set to benefit from a $92.6 million beach replenishment project by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which will expand Ocean’s beachfront for more guest activities.
