Paddy Power takes on Prime Time TV with sitcom launch

Expect typically British humour, insider footie jokes and a unique viewer experience from the British sports betting platform

FIFA VAR RoomThe popular British sports betting platform Paddy Power has announced its four-part series The VAR Room to broadcast on television. The virtual assistant referees of Stockley Park will reportedly be showing their audience what the business is really like, bursting with typical British humour and insider jokes.

Previously, the home-made production featuring guest appearances from football legends Teddy Sheringham, Paul Ince and Alan Curbishley, had been an exclusively online comedy for several years. Yesterday, June 16, the first of the 23-minute shows appeared at 10:30pm on Virgin Media. The next three episodes will air over the next three Wednesdays, same time, same place.

However, Paddy Power stays true to its roots at the same time, granting access to the series via their YouTube channel and publishing the episodes on Amazon Prime later in June.
