Philippine government considering loosening up outbound travel policy

The Philippine government is considering a revision of their outbound travel policy

After the Philippine government officially announced the lifting of restrictions on unnecessary outbound travel by Philippine nationals starting from the 21st of October, with the Secretary of Cabinet of the president of the Philippines saying how they are also studying to let go of some restrictions on foreigners entering the Philippines.

KNLast Saturday, in a live meting on Facebook, the co-chair of the Philippine Emerging Infectious Disease Management Task Force (IATF-EID) Karlo Nograles, said that the government will review non-essential inbound travel policies, most especially because they received a large number of petitions from foreign citizens, hoping to spend the Christmas holidays with the relatives in the Philippines.

Following this the Philippine government said that passengers arriving in the Philippines, whether their spouses and children (Philippines or foreigners), are required to enter the country through quarantine procedures. Foreign aircrews and officials of foreign governments and international organisations accredited in the Philippines, as well as personnel wearing military uniforms for official duties, especially those transporting Covid-19-related medical supplies, laboratory specimens and other humanitarian assistance are allowed to enter.
