Raketech confident that COVID-19 will have no substantial negative effects on the iGaming industry

The company saw more traffic to iGaming platforms in the last weeks

Raketech is among the leading players in the European online gambling affiliate market and listed on Stockholm Stock ExchangeIt generates most of its revenue by funneling new players to online casinos and sharing the profit. They primarily operate within the online gambling, sport and consumer finance industries.

Last week Raketech said that it does not anticipate “substantial negative effects on the igaming industry in the long-term”, but did note that the sports betting revenue will most likely be affected negatively due to so many cancelled and postponed events around the world.

So far, the companies first quarter performance is in line with management expectations despite the pandemic crisis. Overall revenue for January and February amounted to approximately 4 Million Euro and revenue in March set to be in line with the two previous months. Raketech’s revenues come to 70% from casino games, 25% from sports betting activities and 5% from other sources. Total revenue for 2019 amounted to 23.9 Million Euro, down 6.5% from the previous year.

The company saw more traffic to iGaming platforms in the last weeks in particular online casino sites and say this is mainly due to the virus which is limiting players to visit physical locations.

Raketech chief executive Oskar Mühlbach said: “Currently we work hard to help our customers, the operators to reallocate their marketing investments from sports to our main product vertical casino where we continue to see good demand,” and he added: “The situation furthermore confirms that our strategy to increase our global footprint, product offering and vertical spread is the way forward in terms of securing a healthy and balanced business risk set up.”

Raketech said despite this disruption, it has been able to maintain operational efficiently. They have safeguarded their own staff and allowed them to work from home for a number of weeks already. Additionally, they banned business trips and placed all staff that have travelled into self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
