Watch: Innovation in payment solutions for gaming firms

Written by Jenny Ortiz

A market research analysis reported that the global online gambling market was valued at $63.53 billion in 2022 and is projected to grow at an 11.7 percent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through 2030, driven by rising internet access and mobile gaming. The research added that the growing internet penetration and rise in the use of mobile phones among users for playing online games is increasing the demand for online gambling. For payment solutions providers, this means an opportunity to grow with the iGaming sector.

Speaking with SiGMA TV, Lisa Pulk, CPO of Fluid Payments, shared how the company is leveraging innovative technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize payment solutions. Fluid Payments is a software provider offering a flexible cashier solution for iGaming firms.

Leveraging AI for a better user experience

Pulk explained that AI is central to Fluid Payments’ system, particularly in amount prediction and payment pattern analysis. “We have a very experienced and knowledgeable team who are doing the machine learning, calculating these, building models,” Pulk said.

The company tracks every user’s deposit process, providing operators with detailed insights. “We can tell them how many users are dropping out, how many changed their payment method, and how many finalized transactions successfully or not,” she elaborated.

By using AI-driven tracking and predictive analytics, Fluid Payments aims to make deposits as frictionless as possible. “We want the user to just click ‘next, next, next’ and complete a successful deposit,” she said.

Growth and competition

Despite the competition, Pulk said Fluid Payments believes its model offers unique advantages, particularly for smaller operators. “I’m not aware of many companies doing what we are doing. Big operators with large development teams may build something similar, but for smaller operators, we are the right fit,” Pulk said.

Fluid Payments functions as an extension of an operator’s development team, focusing solely on optimising the cashier experience. “We focus only on doing one thing — cashier,” she emphasised.

Women in leadership

Reflecting on her journey, Pulk highlighted the increasing presence of women in leadership roles within the gaming industry. “I see a big shift in the presence of women in various positions, and of course, I’m very happy about it,” she said.

Initially, she had doubts about being in a decision-making role. “But I overcame this quickly, and I’m proud of my progress,” she added. Pulk remains optimistic about the future. “I’ve been attending events like SiGMA and ICE, and I see a lot of changes. More women are walking around — not just as entertainment — but as decision-makers,” she said.
