SBIF revamps online resources in bid to ensure UK sports integrity

This move is directed towards the protection of professionals against manipulation and illicit threats

The Sports Betting Integrity Forum (SBIF) has reinitiated its online resources providing a better platform for all stakeholders involved in protecting the UK’s sports integrity.

The main aim of this forum is to deliver a medium targeted towards the protection of professionals against manipulation and illicit threats. This platform is proving to be more user-friendly for stakeholders seeking advice and resources on sports integrity. This unit is working as UK‘s representative body within the Council of Europe’s ‘Macolin Convention.’

Sports Betting Integrity ForumSBIF said in a statement “The 2021 Plan builds on the last several years work by SBIF with key priority actions for 2021 highlighting the risks brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and considering the potential impact of Brexit on the UK’s approach to betting integrity,”

The website now also features the SBIF’s ‘Sports and Sports betting Integrity Action Plan. This unit is codeveloped in collusion with the UK Gambling Commission. As part of the new action plan a ‘sports betting integrity training module’ is also included on the site for UK business stakeholders looking to broaden their educational supplies on best processes related to maintaining integrity matters.

Starting from April, bookmakers holding a licence have been enforced to provide standardised data to the UKGC’s ‘Sports Betting Intelligence Unit’ (SBIU).

The Forum was established in 2012 to counter the risk of match-fixing and threats to the integrity of sports betting in the UK. As part of Britain’s National Platform, it brings together a variety of stakeholders such as sports governing bodies, betting operators, sport and betting trade associations, player federations, law enforcement, and gambling regulation.
