Scotland’s two largest casinos join forces in email campaign against Govt restrictions

Genting and Grosvenor Casinos are leading the email campaign called ‘The Chips are Down’ in response to the government’s orders to shut casino doors

The two largest casinos in the UK, Genting Casinos and Grosvenor Casinos, have launched an email campaign to reopen Scottish casinos. Currently all casinos in Scotland have closed as part of Scotland’s coronavirus restrictions.

The campaign being pushed by the casinos is called The Chips Are Down – Save our Casinos, Save our Jobs’, encourages the public to 10906471_553949318041618_4372555428747133431_n-e1572363249746support their local casino and its employeesand was sent via email to Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

Casinos feel that their efforts to make their venues ‘COVID-19 secure’ are in vain due to the government’s new restrictions that casinos must close their doors without question. Genting Casinos and Grosvenor Casinos feel that their employees and team members will be kept safe with their intense hygiene measures, social distancing and PPE.

Since casinos have reopened, out of 30,000 visitors only one case has been recorded in Scotland.  The casinos, Genting and Grosvenor, believe that due to this statistic it is unfair to impose these types of drastic measures which involve the complete closure of the premises and their land-based operations.

Some data also showed that 87% of frequent casino goers feel safer inside the casinos rather than inside other entertainment venues.  Grosvenor-Casino-Review

The casino groups are concerned about the devastating impact the closure of casinos  will have on their customers, their employees who may end up without a job as well as their suppliers and local charities they constantly help. The closure of these casinos will result in a loss of millions of pounds for the economy and their community.

The Chips are Down email campaign simplifies the process as all it needs is the name, email, the customer’s local casino they wish to support and a brief comment box explaining the reason why casinos are important to the campaigner.
