SiGMA Foundation with Forestals has distributed food vouchers

SiGMA Foundation together with Forestals has collected and distributed its first €1500 worth of food vouchers from the “Sharing is Caring” campaign to Malta based NGO ‘Fondazzjoni Sebħ’

SiGMA Foundation together with Forestals has teamed up with Facebook group RUBS for a great cause. The aim of this initiative is to send donated, unused government COVID vouchers to charities in need.

Today, €1500 worth of food vouchers were presented to Ms. Elmer Stanmore, Senior Manager at ‘Fondazzjoni Sebħ’ collected from this campaign.

Fondazzjoni Sebħ is a shelter for survivors of domestic violence in Malta. This shelter was the first of its kind in Malta as it focussed on empowering women and children to reintegrate into the community, independent from their abuser. So far 50 women and children will be benefitting from this initiative.

The next beneficiary will be YMCA – home for the homeless, a nongovernmental organization performing mainly as a Social Work Services Agency, a Youth Work Agency and a Housing Association. SiGMA Foundation aims to ensure that all these vouchers are put to good use and feed those in need.

Keith Marshall told SiGMA ‘Sharing is Caring’ – this is our mantra and we intend applying people’s collective kindness to this campaign. Our rally cry is being answered, let’s keep at it!’

Those wishing to take part in this initiative can follow these few easy steps:

Step 1: Put your unused Red Government vouchers in an envelope.

Step 2: Write “Sharing is Caring” on the envelope and drop off/send by post to any Forestals outlets (Sliema, Luqa, Valletta or Mriehel).

Step 3: Vouchers will then be collected and distributed to various NGOs.

Step 4: Distributed vouchers can be used by those in need in eateries anywhere in the island.

This €100 voucher scheme which was due to expire this month, has been extended till the end of October.

With the help of this community effort, SiGMA Foundation aims to show the value of true collective strength.
