Ahead of the BiS SiGMA Americas summit, the third edition of which is scheduled to take place in Sao Paulo from the 7th to 10th April, SiGMA connected with ambassadors, business leaders and officials at an official business luncheon held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Malta and Brazil.
Hosted in the elegant Villa Rizza Setor de Clubes Esportivo Sul Trecho (SCES) in Brasilia by H.E. John Aquilina, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Brazil, with the support of SiGMA Group, the luncheon provided a unique platform for sector leaders to discuss economic growth areas, explore high-value investment opportunities, and engage with key policy shapers.
The event welcomed a number of Brazilian Senators, including Hon. Humberto Costa, Izalci Lucas, and Veneziano Vital. Also in attendance was the Secretary of Paraná State, Hon. Rubens Bueno, and Eryck Heeyzer – National President of the Brazilian Labour Party.
Ambassadors and diplomats hailing from the Netherlands, Greece, Slovakia, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Cuba, Serbia, Suriname, Bahrain, Botswana, Ecuador, Argentina, Israel, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Finland, Albania, Hungary, Denmark, Mozambique, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, North Macedonia, Ethiopia, Jordan, Egypt, Cameroon, Singapore, Norway, Haiti, New Zealand, Australia, India, Japan, Japan, Barbados, South Africa, and Malta also made up the guest list.
Other notable figures included the General Coordinator of Strategic Technologies (MCTI), the Deputy Attorney General, the International Relations Advisor at Brasília Deputy Chamber, special advisors for International Relations, State of Goiás, Plinio Jorge (ANJL) – President of the ANJL, General Coordinator of Strategic Technologies for the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Luiz Claudio de Sousa Bispo – Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Communications. Companies such as Atria, Ana Gaming, Rommanel, Inglês FACIL Express, Vista Solar Trading System, Valor Investimentos, and Grupo Imagem were also represented.
The exclusive luncheon opened with a welcome note from Ambassador Aquilina. His Excellency was followed by a presentation from SiGMA Group founder Eman Pulis, unveiling the Group’s 2025 calendar of events, touching on the company’s plans for both short-term and long-term growth – including its ambitions in the South American markets.
Further dates are planned in key cities later this year, including Manila, Valletta, Rome, and Colombo. Collectively, the summits under the Group´s main brands are anticipated to convene over 110,000 delegates, including policymakers, regulators, investors, and innovators who are eager to cultivate trade, investment, and international collaboration. The Group also hosts over 30 ancillary events, including tournaments, retreats, and iGatherings, creating bespoke opportunities for investment, growth and cultural exchange.
