SkyCity Adelaide to finally open and unveil new $330m development

SkyCity Adelaide’s development will open in a staged manner with gaming areas opening on 3 December

The South Australian government just lifted certain COVID-19 restrictions that saw Adelaide casinos and entertainment facilities subject to a maximum capacity limit of 100 people per venue. The company added that it’s New Zealand properties in Queenstown, Auckland and Hamilton have been unaffected by the events in South Australia, and that those venues remained open.

SkyCity has confirmed its delayed A$330m Adelaide expansion development will open in a staged manner.

From 1 December, Eos, a new 120-room luxury hotel, Sol Bar and Restaurant (a new rooftop bar and restaurant) and ITL, a new Skycitymodern Italian restaurant adjoining the Festival Plaza, are open to the public. Meanwhile, the gaming areas and the new entertainment venue, “the District”, will open on 3 December

In addition to the limited capacity, physical distancing and hygiene requirements will remain in place across the gaming floor until the implementation of an approved COVID-19 management plan. During the first two weeks, there is a requirement of one person per four square meters indoors and one person per two square meters outdoors. Electronic gaming machines have been setup to allow appropriate physical distancing, customers are limited at each gaming table and enhanced hygiene protocols are in place.
