Super Bowl 2023: Philadelphia Eagles take on Kansas Chiefs

The biggest sporting event in the US is back with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Kansas Chiefs for the Super Bowl in Arizona on Sunday.

The Eagles have a better overall ranking than the Chiefs, with a better defense, offensive line and rushing attack.  The Chiefs believe they can overcome their disadvantages if their quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a great performance.

Patrick Mahomes is considered to be a ‘once-in-a-generation’ player. It is believed that he has the potential to surpass Tom Brady who is renowned for being the greatest player of all time.

Patrick Lavon Mahomes was born in 1995, the son of a former major league baseball pitcher, Pat Mahomes.   He started by playing football and baseball at his junior year at Texas Technical school.  Following his sophomore year, he quit baseball to focus solely on football. In his junior year, he led all NCAA Division FBS players in multiple categories. He was selected 10th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Global Betting on Super Bowl set to reach US $20 billion

When the Kanas Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles meet at the Super Bowl in Arizona this Sunday, sportsbooks will be taking bets on everything from the outcome of the game to what Rihanna will be wearing to the time it may take for country start Chris Stapleton to sing the national anthem.

Online casino Cloudbet estimates that by the time the game is over bets will be upwards of US $20 billion  in total value.

“Several states across America have legalized sports betting over the past few years, pushing trade groups there to estimate at least $16 billion in US turnover alone for the 2023 Super Bowl”, said a Cloudbet spokesperson. “We see the US market making up about two-thirds of Super Bowl betting, meaning at least $20 billion in worldwide turnover is entirely possible”.
