The Milk Cup, the most-watched women’s esports tournament, is returning in 2025 with great expectations. According to a press release, with more than 60 percent of last year’s players participating in their first-ever tournament, The Milk Cup remains committed to empowering women by offering tools, resources, and a healthy competitive community.
The Milk Cup has evolved into a top-tier competition in a short span of time. It has been a source of inspiration for young female gamers over the years, providing them with an opportunity to demonstrate their talent, earn fame, and gain access to professional opportunities. MilkPEP Senior Marketing Manager Jen Grubb explains how much she is looking forward to the event and its extended reach via The Milk Cup Academy, which will offer amateur gamers education, mentorship, and a community.
Grubb added, “We are thrilled to bring back The Milk Cup in 2025, reinforcing our deep commitment to the female gaming community and continuing to solidify milk’s place as The Performance Drink of Gamers.”
Increased prize pool: For 2025, The Milk Cup’s prize fund has increased to $300,000 from last year’s $250,000.
New Duos format: The new Duos format has been added this year, providing a two-player team option that allows players to collaborate and play as a duo. This development aims to create more exciting gameplay and promote team building among gamers.
Expanded qualification pathways: Three major series qualifier events will be held in April, June, and August, leading up to the grand finals. These events open more opportunities for women to secure a spot in the championship.
Live broadcasts and increased visibility: The tournament will be streamed live on Gonna Need Milk’s Twitch channel, ensuring a broader audience and increased exposure for women in esports.
The Milk Cup Academy a new Fortnite training program is dedicated to nurturing aspiring esports athletes by offering expert coaching from top Fortnite professionals like ThePeachCobbler, competitive training, and scrims to enhance gameplay skills, wellness and performance support for both mental and physical well-being.
ThePeachCobbler said, “The Milk Cup Academy is a game-changer. So many talented women just need the right guidance and opportunity. This programme gives them both.”
