The Philadelphia Eagles enters the Esports world

The Philadelphia Eagles becomes the first NFL club to partner up with Esports Entertainment Group (EEG)

The partnership will present the opportunity to fans to participate during annual Madden tournaments on the Eagles’ behalf.

During a press release, the terms of the partnership were outlined. Most noticeably, it was noted that EEG will exploit the Philadelphia Eagles players for marketing purposes in order to gain further brand affiliation and recognition.

Speaking on behalf of the Eagles, Catherine Carlson, the Senior Vice President mentioned that the EEG has always been a leader in the world of Esports and has been ahead of the game in recent times.

Catherine Carlson | SiGMA NewsShe expressed that the organisation is very excited and looking forward to executing several projects through this partnership, including the launch of the highly anticipated Madden tournament series on the Esports Gaming League platform.

Moreover, the EEG recently partnered up with Bally`s, which is formally known as Twin River Worldwide Holdings. Therefore, the Eagles now own a part of the company that has a contract with the casino brand for Esports wagering.

For that reason, the EEG is now planning to offer a sports-centric wagering platform under the Bally’s master licence. However, such a venture is dependent on state legislators and regulators.

Currently, and specifically in New Jersey, law permits limited Esports events wagering. Should such a legislation change, meaning that a wider array of Esports events for wagering would be allowed, it would mean that the Eagles would be partial owners of a sportsbook.

Ultimately, if legislations change for the better in the future, these connections developed by the Eagles could result in major value for the franchise.
