“This is the perfect year to enter the online sports betting market” – Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook

In this exclusive interview, Alexander Kamenetskyi sat down with SiGMA News to discuss where the online sports betting market is heading this year

This year is unique for the sports community. We will see the first FIFA World Cup be held in autumn. How do such events influence the online betting industry?

Of course, the championship you mentioned is in the spotlight this year. We always expect high interest and activity from players when we speak about significant football events, but this time the interest is doubled. It provides exceptional opportunities to promote online sports betting brands, acquire new players and reactivate those who show a lack of activity.

Moreover, it’s a chance for crash tests because such a large-scale event puts your operations to the test, whether it’s about team collaboration or the technical load, which grows drastically.

In this regard, the automation of work processes comes to the forefront. Those brands that have already turned to automation will indeed have an advantage because we expect a real challenge in terms of fast-changing work conditions during the event. As an experienced online sports betting software provider, we make sure to prepare in advance for such ‘hot days’ to ensure that the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook platform allows our clients to take advantage of this sensational event without missing on its opportunities. We are focused on the automation of processes to minimise risks for our partners because we clearly understand that risk grows proportionally to player engagement.

Can you say there is a trend toward more brand launches ahead of major sporting events? Do you think this strategy is right?

Yes, for sure! This year is, undoubtedly, a perfect time for entering the online sports betting market. The projects going live will soon burst onto the scene and have excellent chances for rapid success. The active sports season is on the corner. Now you can build and grow the player base much easier.

We are seeing growing interest from new clients who are deciding to leverage this opportunity. Our team is hard at work on launching many new projects right now. We foresaw that in advance therefore we focused on improving crucial aspects for clients such as reducing set-up time. As a result, our current capacity enables us to set up a brand in 4 days. The reason we can do that are the different integration methods, such as API and iFrame as well as the well-coordinated work of managers and technical specialists.

Online sports betting is being gamified. SOFTSWISS is the company that focuses on that. What are you going to implement in time for the significant sports event? If yes, why do you see this as promising?

Gamification is a constant persistent thought for our team because it is not just good to have, it’s a must these days  Our goal is to provide more and more bonuses, including exclusive ones. We are also focused on making our bonus system as flexible and customisable as possible

Working closely with clients we are helping them make the most of their audience by implementing bonuses that make gameplay more engaging and diverse. This year alone we have implemented a few exclusive features such as Freebet Booster, Lootbox Bonus and Hunting Tournaments. Each of them complements the other and helps our partners achieve goals like increasing player lifetime value, highlighting specific events to players events and much much more.

At the same time, we are looking to innovate and give our partners additional opportunities. For instance, we will announce the integration with the SOFTSWISS Jackpot Aggregator and demonstrate how it can be used as an additional promo tool for sports.

What advice would you give operators to take full advantage of such a busy time full of exciting sporting events?

First, don’t ignore the gamification of the playing process. It’s crucial to make the bonus system as flexible as possible to cover specific tournaments and work for specific audiences. The most important thing is to find the right approach to working with the player and managing risks.
