Tipico and the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) have extended their partnership with a new multi-year agreement that makes Tipico the official partner of Germany’s 3. Liga from 1 July 2025. The deal runs through to the end of the 2027/28 season and marks a significant milestone in the betting company’s commitment to German football.

With this agreement, Tipico becomes the only brand currently partnered with all professional football competitions in Germany. This includes the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, the men’s and women’s DFB Cup, and now the 3. Liga.

Wide-ranging advertising rights secured

As part of the new deal, Tipico gains central advertising rights across the 3. Liga. These rights include:

  • Joint Tipico and league branding on the right sleeve of all team kits
  • Perimeter advertising during live televised matches
  • A range of digital and promotional assets

The revenue from the partnership will be distributed annually to the 20 clubs in the 3. Liga, providing an important source of funding for teams in Germany’s third tier.

Strengthening presence in all tiers

Kajetan Strini-Brown, Director of Marketing & Brand at Tipico, explained, “3. Liga is pure football: packed stadiums, passionate competition, hope and suspense – it’s a perfect match for Tipico! We are therefore extremely excited to work together to further strengthen the appeal and visibility of this special league. For us, the 3. Liga is the logical extension of our commitment to German football, as we are now partner of all professional competitions. We have been working with the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for many years and have also partnered with the DFB for a year already.”

Dr. Holger Blask, Chairman of the Management Board of DFB GmbH & Co. KG, said, “This good news rounds off an outstanding year in the 3. Liga full of spectator records and underlines the popularity of the league. Tipico fits in as a strong and reliable partner. Together, we also want to continue our extensive efforts for responsible handling of sports betting within this framework. For many years, the DFB has shared the goals named in the State Treaty on Gambling, which only permits betting offers from state-licensed providers in accordance with legal requirements. In this context, the promotion of regulated offers and simultaneously the effective fight against the black market are of great importance to preserve the integrity of the game and protect the players.”

Aligned with the trusted partner initiative

The partnership supports Tipico’s wider strategy of promoting responsible betting. It aligns with the launch of Tipico’s Trusted Partner initiative, a programme designed to highlight licensed operators and reduce illegal gambling activities in the market.

By working closely with the DFB and now all levels of professional German football, Tipico aims to reinforce the visibility of regulated betting and encourage fans to engage with legal, licensed platforms.
