The SiGMA Esports Cup is heading to the SiGMA Toronto expo, where the tournament will make its first North American debut at the 2-day gaming and tech conference. SiGMA, in partnership with GMR and EBET have announced that the third edition of the Esports CS:GO Tournament will take place this June 7-8th at the Enercare Center in Toronto. The four-team LAN event will see professional teams: The Davenport Panthers, The Jungle, OneT4P, and the Valors compete for a $7,500 prize pool.

First place nets a sizeable prize of $5,000, while the runners-up make out with $2,500 each.

Watch an interview with Dubai’s March winners:

In keeping with the previous SiGMA Esports Cup, which took place at SiGMA Asia in Dubai this March, the four teams will continue to play a BO1 round-robin seeding stage during the first day. The second day of competition will then be played out in a BO3 single-elimination brackets, seeded based on the first day.

In a surprise twist the teams will also be fighting for a place in the SiGMA circuit finals – which will be held as part of SiGMA’s Malta Week expo this November. All winners will be awarded a spot in the Malta event, where they will join previous SiGMA Esports Cup winners from SiGMA’s last 2 conferences – held in Dubai and Malta, for the grand finale and a $30,000 prize pool.

Speaking to SiGMA reporter Yanni Collins in Dubai at the March 2022 event, last year’s winner, OneT4P, said, “I feel great, my teammates showed me a lot of motivation today. SiGMA did very well, they worked a lot for this tournament, they deserve a lot of recognition.”

The two favourites going into the event will be last year’s winners ONET4P, who recently acquired Logan “Voltage” Long from The Pond, and Davenport Panthers, who currently sit joint-forth in ESEA Advanced with a comfortable record of 7-2; sitting close behind in Advanced are also Valors with a 6-2 record. The Jungle also sit joint-first in ESEA Main currently with a 9-0 record.

Boosted by a dip in traditional sports, and a global video game market worth around $159 billion in 2020, the high-growth Esports sector attracts over 495 million viewers a year. The tournament will be live streamed on https://twitch.tv/gmr_tv.
