The Emirates Esports Federation, in partnership with ITW Universe, has now invited tenders to acquire and operate elite franchises for the newly formed E-Gaming League (EGL). This presents a perfect opportunity for international investors, esports teams, sports franchise companies, and wealthy individuals to participate in this fast-emerging esports economy.
The EGL is designed to revolutionise e-gaming, making it more sustainable, inclusive, and competitive. It will feature various genres, engaging players and a diverse fan base from different cultures. The platform aims to provide a stable foundation for long-term global collaboration and investment opportunities.
The Emirates Esports Federation aims to develop esports within the UAE and beyond. This collaboration with ITW Universe, a leading sports and gaming business solutions company, promises to attract investors and brands eager to enter the vibrant, ever-changing landscape of esports.
The EGL franchise model is a game-changer because it brings structure to owning an esports team. Unlike traditional leagues, it provides financial stability and long-term profitability for franchise owners through strategic partnerships and revenue-sharing mechanisms.
Another notable feature of EGL is its equitable revenue-sharing system. The licence fees and revenue from sponsorships, media rights, and merchandise will guarantee a minimum 50 percent share of revenue to franchise owners, presenting a more assured opportunity for steady income through esports investment.
The Invitation to Tender (ITT) is open to global investors seeking long-term esports opportunities, professional esports teams desiring a secure league framework, and high-net-worth individuals interested in expanding digital entertainment.
Securing a permanent spot in one of the world’s fastest-growing esports leagues allows stakeholders to engage with a broad audience across various gaming titles, enjoy financial benefits from sponsorships and media rights through a revenue-sharing model, and be at the forefront of the $5.17 billion esports industry.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Shakbout Al Nahyan, President, Emirates Esports Federation, highlighted that the EGL franchise model is a transformative platform ensuring stability and unlocking global investment opportunities. He emphasised that esports is now a mass sport transcending borders and generations.
Nahyan stated, “The EGL franchise model represents a revolutionary step in the evolution of the esports industry. It is not only a framework but a transformational platform that provides stability, facilitates global cooperation, and unlocks unparalleled opportunities for long-term investment. Esports has evolved from being virtual entertainment to a mass sport that crosses borders, cultures, and generations. With EGL, we are not just hosting games, we are shaping the future of the digital economy.”
Saeed Ali Al-Tahir, General Secretary of EEF, noted that the initiative marks a defining moment in esports evolution, providing stability, brand partnerships, and pathways for talent development.
Al-Tahir commented, “EGL’s franchise model launch is at this point the defining moment in the history of esports, its stability provided by equal revenue sharing, strategic partnerships with brands, and pathways towards talent development. Our vision is to position the UAE as the world’s premier competitive gaming hub and lead the charge in driving economic growth, cultural exchange, and limitless opportunities for the next generation.”
Vivek Chandra, Director of ITW Universe, expressed enthusiasm about the EGL Franchise Ownership Tender, encouraging forward-thinking partners to participate in a dynamic esports’ ecosystem.
Chandra added, “We are pleased to announce the EGL Franchise Ownership Tender in collaboration with the Emirates Esports Federation. This initiative is designed to attract forward-thinking partners eager to engage in a dynamic and profitable esports ecosystem. We look forward to creating a league that adds value to publishers, players, and the entire esports ecosystem, with our franchise partners at the centre of all initiatives.”
