Two companies merge in race for Nagasaki Integrated Resort Licence

Oshidori International and Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment have joined together in a bid to acquire the lucrative licence

The race for the Nagasaki IR licence continues to heat up as Oshidori International Development Godogaisha and Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment have announced that they will be partnering up together in a bid to acquire the much sought after IR licence.

Japan had considered measures to approve an Integrated resort as a way to boost tourism and generate new revenue. According to Nagasaki’s IR basic concept tentative plan the whole development will cost up to $4billion and is estimated to see around 7 billion visitors per year.

The bid for Nagasaki’s IR licence is heavily contested and has certainly heated up with the new addition of the partnership of Oshidori International and Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.

Oshidori Internation are a Japanese company established for the purpose of developing an integrated resort in Nagasaki while Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment is a master developer of integrated resorts worldwide.

Other than creating an exceptional integrated resort, the partnership looks to create a dynamic community for Nagasaki – becoming a premium travel destination and residential choice in Japan.

The IR will be developed in Sasebo City, with the selection process to run through June till December of this year.
