Electronic table game (ETG) supplier Interblock d.d. has promoted Vincent Tang to vice president of sales for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. He was previously the company’s sales director for the region through its subsidiary, Interblock Asia Pacific Pty Ltd. Tang shared the news in a post on LinkedIn.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he has worked as Interblock’s sales director for the Asia Pacific region for more than three years, starting in January 2022.
He first joined Interblock in May 2019 as senior sales manager for Southeast Asia, a position he held for nearly three years.
Interblock operates in several Asian markets, and its products are also available in regions such as North America, Europe, and Australia. The company is owned by U.S.-based asset management firm Oaktree Capital Management LP.
In June 2024, Tang, then serving as Interblock dd’s sales director for the APAC region, said the company had been witnessing “steady double-digit growth” in demand for electronic table games (ETGs) across the region following the Covid-19 pandemic.
During an interview, Tang said this growth is being driven by several factors, including cost-cutting needs, staffing challenges, and the shifting preferences of younger players. “All these factors are driving casino operators towards ETGs,” he said.
Tang also pointed out that casino operators are increasingly redesigning their floors and introducing new products to attract a younger audience. “The younger generation [of players] that casinos want to attract right now is different from the conventional, more traditional players,” he said. “They don’t have the need to sit by the [gaming] table or to hold the chips.”
“ETGs have become something that mass players will go to,” he added.
He also added that manpower shortages and high training costs continue to be major hurdles for operators. “Casinos have difficulty in finding manpower, and sometimes it’s too expensive. Also, skilled workers are not easy to train,” he explained. ETGs, he said, help address these challenges.
