Women in Gaming Africa: empowering change through SiGMA’s leadership

The first-ever Women in Gaming Africa conference, organized in partnership with SiGMA Group, aims to redefine inclusivity and foster professional development. This ground-breaking event is scheduled for 10–12 March 2025 at Cape Town’s iconic Grand-West Arena, coinciding with International Women’s Day—a fitting celebration of women’s achievements and contributions to gaming.

The conference kicks off on 10 March with an exclusive tour of the stunning Cape Winelands. A mini-wine festival representing 5 vineyards, alongside a line-up of esteemed speakers sharing their insights, including a panel of three special guest speakers from outside of the industry. These pioneers will delve into topics such as leadership, mentorship, and the vital role of female representation in Africa’s growing economy. The day will culminate with the Women in Gaming Africa Mentorship and Rising Star Awards, setting an inspiring and celebratory tone for the event.

The global iGaming industry is thriving, and Women in Gaming (WiG) Africa has emerged as a powerful force, driving gender equity and empowerment in this exciting sector. On 11 and 12 March, WiG Africa will seamlessly integrate into the broader SiGMA Africa conference. These two days will feature workshops and panel discussions tailored to addressing both challenges and opportunities for women in gaming. Panels will explore topics like the growing demographic of female gamers, the importance of equitable representation, and the rising influence of women in eSports. Alongside these discussions, specialized sessions will focus on mentorship, leadership, and technical skill development, providing attendees with practical tools for career growth.

Inclusive networking opportunities, such as the WiG Africa Brunch and evening networking drinks, will welcome all SiGMA ticket holders. These events are designed to foster collaboration and connection across the industry – for both women and men. The conference will reach its pinnacle during the prestigious SiGMA Awards Ceremony, where the Award for Excellence will be presented to honor outstanding efforts in advancing women’s roles in iGaming.

SiGMA’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and diversity shines through in the Women in Gaming Africa initiative, which represents a forward-looking approach to the industry’s growth. This momentum will carry forward to the upcoming AIBC Eurasia event in Dubai, set for 23–25 February 2025, and the SiGMA Roadshow, ensuring continued engagement across global markets.

The SiGMA Africa event in Cape Town marks a transformative moment in the evolution of iGaming. By embracing inclusivity, innovation, and opportunity, the industry is paving the way for a future shaped by the voices and leadership of women.
