Bernard Lau is the CEO and co-founder of Gravity Resorts who owns 6 boutique resorts in Southeast Asia including Kunang Kunang Tent Resort in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with broad experience across various industries. Bernard has nine years of experience in the real estate industry and possesses extensive knowledge of property management for both residential and commercial real estate, as well as boutique property development.
When Staynex was founded Bernard had the goal to tackle a series of challenges that were prevalent in the industry. He recognized a persistent problem of unoccupied nights and low occupancy rates among hotels and other accommodation providers, budget constraints, and a limited scope for cross-industry collaboration. Leveraging his experience in hospitality and technology, Bernard currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Staynex with the vision to enhance the travel community’s experience by enabling hotels and resorts to provide more flexibility and utility from curated hotel memberships.
In a short span of his tenure, he has seen Staynex winning second place in 11th Global Blockchain Congress Awards by Agora Group in March 2023, partnering with Arsenal Football Club as the Official Resorts and Hotels Memberships Partner, forming strategic partnership with Huawei as their Web 3 Ecosystem Partner in May 2023, and speaking at several events such as the Hong Kong Big Demo Day in Cyberport. Staynex has also been nominated for Web3 Leader of the Year and Most Innovative Project of the Year at the AIBC Manila Awards to be held in July 2023.
