Geoff Zochodne

Sports Betting Journalist

Geoff Zochodne is currently a sports betting journalist for Covers, a website that has for more than 25 years been providing bettors with statistics, analysis, and industry news. Covers’ sports betting matchup pages have been the industry standard for decades and its editorial team has long helped punters navigate the sometimes-treacherous betting markets.

After joining Covers in May 2021, Geoff has spent his time reporting on the sports betting industry, including legal and regulatory developments and the latest news about the biggest names in the business. He has written extensively about Canada and Ontario as well, especially given the recent authorization of single-game sports betting and the launch of the province’s internet-gambling market. His work has helped keep bettors informed and on top of the changing regulatory environment.

Before joining Covers, Geoff worked at the Financial Post, the business section for the National Post, a Canada-wide newspaper. While at the Post, Geoff covered banks, the financial markets, and even the country’s legalization of recreational cannabis and the industry it bloomed. Prior to that, Geoff was a reporter for and then the editor of QP Briefing, a subscription-based publication specializing in Ontario politics and policy. There, he reported on the province’s energy sector and the daily happenings in the legislature at Queen’s Park. He even interviewed the premier a few times.

Geoff Zochodne is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, where he tried and mostly failed to play football for the Huskies. He grew up in Ontario, in Oshawa, and now lives in Hamilton with his partner and two beagles, who are crazy. Geoff likes the Miami Dolphins and the CFL, which should never abandon three-down football.
