Steve McAllister has worked for Canada’s most prominent media organizations and sports associations as a journalist and communications specialist over a span of four decades.
During his career in media, McAllister was a sportswriter for The Canadian Press and covered the Toronto Blue Jays’ beat in back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and ’93. Later, he led the sports departments at The Globe and Mail, and Yahoo Canada, and has served as the president of Sports Media Canada since 2008. Over his career, McAllister has been in communications leadership positions with the National Hockey League Players’ Association and Tennis Canada, and among his past clients as a consultant/communications specialist are the Canadian Olympic Association, the federal Minister of Science and Sport, NBA Canada, the Canada Games Council and U Sports.
Today, he is the Editor-in-Chief of The Parleh newsletter and also writes a weekly sports betting column that appears in The Toronto Star newspaper and on its website.
