Oddspedia.com launch a revamped version of its website, an 18-month project

Recently, odds comparison portal Oddspedia.com completed an 18-month project to launch a brand new, revamped version of its website, complete with a new look, new features and additional optimization. The relaunch coincided with the return of major sports following the COVID-19 pause.

Oddspedia originally began in 2014, and has since served the needs of hundreds of thousands of betting fans around the globe. One of the goals of the relaunch, which launched August 4, was to expand that global outreach by including versions in German, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian in addition to the default English.

But the relaunch didn’t only add superficial elements like extra languages or a new look. Oddspedia co-founder Jan Möller (seen left) explains that the site has been” completely redesigned from the ground up”, with a more in-depth sports coverage than ever before.

User feedback played a pivotal role in deciding the goals that the Oddspedia team placed for their relaunch. As a result, the portal now covers more sports than ever (over 40) and compares the odds from over 80 leading bookmakers. It’s faster, more responsive, with a refined and intuitive user interface which makes it much easier to compare odds or gain in-depth information about different teams, players or leagues.

“Oddspedia will continue to create the best possible user experience for betting customers,” added Möller. “With our pre-match and live odds, we want to make sure that our users are getting the best possible odds on the market. Also, with all our other data, we want to satisfy sports fans in general.

“Our mission is to provide all the information a sports fan visiting our site might want and need, no matter what country you are from or what kind of device you are using. We are constantly striving to be the ultimate source of information for the sport and betting fans.”

According to Möller, the site wasn’t simply optimized and expanded in order to be faster and more responsive – it was completely rebuilt from the ground up. While it still shares some DNA with the old Oddspedia, 2.0 is brand new and built from scratch to deliver the fastest live scores, real-time odds updates, on-pitch statistics and news. Even the content, like the text on individual pages, has been completely rewritten in most cases in order to be more clear and expansive.

The user interface has been redesigned completely to allow each user to find exactly what they’re looking for. Oddspedia no longer caters exclusively to gamblers, but to all sports fans, and as such it was deemed important for every visitor to quickly find what they want without having to go through pages they may not care for. The “user journey” is personalized even further using geolocation, which automatically filters the sports events and bookmakers available on the site in order to display the most relevant ones for the user’s location first.

Several major additions have either already been made to the site or are planned for the near future as Oddspedia 2.0 continues to expand and improve. One such feature is a live news section which combines in-house content with a news feed from over a hundred individually vetted and reliable news outlets in order to provide the user with a comprehensive picture of everything happening in the sport today.

“The Oddspedia relaunch lets users enjoy faster live scores, more extensive sports coverage, breaking news, statistics and real-time updates on match information and betting odds,” Möller said in conclusion. “With many additional features now underway, the project is committed to delivering the ultimate destination for sports fans.”
