The International Esports Federation (IESF) has partnered with Gamers8 and the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) to bring Asian gaming athletes a ground-breaking experience.

Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship: A New Frontier in Esports

The partnership will produce the inaugural Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship, with an online preliminary round taking place from May 1 to 16, followed by a live event in Riyadh from July 10 to 17. The offline round will be part of Gamers8, the largest Esports and gaming festival in the world. Winners of the championship will advance to the WE Championship Finals in Romania in August.

The grand finale of the WE Championships is scheduled to take place from August 24 to September 4.

The Asia & Oceania qualifiers are the first for this year’s WE Championships and will launch several months of exciting international Esports competition. Qualifiers for the Americas, Europe, and Africa will follow. Six games will be played across each region: PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, CS:GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7, and eFootball™.

Boban Totovski, IESF Secretary General, stated, “We thank the city of Riyadh for hosting the Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship. We are confident that the World Esports Family will have an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s top Esports destinations. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Gamers8 and the Saudi Esports Federation and are excited to see the region’s best gamers compete in Riyadh.”

Ahmed Albishri, Deputy CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation, expressed enthusiasm for hosting the first-ever Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship, saying, “This tournament is a great reward for all Asian players. We are thrilled to host the event for the first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the summer of 2023. We aim to showcase the best skills and provide an unforgettable Esports experience.”

IESF is committed to its goal of promoting inclusion and diversity in the World Esports Family, with an expected participation record of 120 countries this year and an expanded Women’s CS:GO Tournament.
